GHS

Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals

Accuracy and sincerity of documentation is very important at Indupa. Therefore we work with the international system GHS. The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals is an internationally agreed-upon system, created by the United Nations. It is designed to replace the various classification and labeling standards used in different countries by using consistent criteria for classification and labeling on a global level.

The goal of GHS is to create a globally harmonized system for hazard classification of substances. GHS applies to the supply, transport (road, rail and water) and the use of substances and mixtures. There are nine hazard pictograms agreed and a large number of standard hazard statements and precautionary statements.

By introducting GHS, you reduce the number of differences between the statutory classification systems in the world . It brings more uniformity in classification criteria , hazard statements, pictograms and precautionary measures.
